A Partner in Crime

Overall, I felt pretty good this week, though I have definitely felt more tired than usual, especially today. I made reservations to stay at the Red Lion Inn in Tukwila while in Seattle for the sperm banking next week, and I am certainly looking forward to “getting away” for a week, as the stress of the whole situation has gotten to me a bit.

I haven’t mentioned it yet, but some of you are aware of an eerie coincidence. My boss Tim Story’s 22-year-old son TJ was diagnosed with Nodular Sclerosis Hodgkin’s Lymphoma about a month before I was. It has been nice having the support structure of someone going through the same thing I am.

TJ lives in Bellingham in the Seattle area, so I will be able to visit him next week and see how he is doing. Everyone should visit his blog at http://omgcancerbbq.blogspot.com/ and send him support as well. Plus he has a great sense of humor, and his recanting of his trials and tribulations are funny and honest. It’s good to see how my experiences have paralleled his.

Dana,
I'm TJ's mom, and just wanted to connect with you guys. Tim and Becca have been keeping me up to date on how you are doing, and it's great to see that you guys are keeping a blog too. It really helps to have a central point that everyone can access to see how things are going. Another tool that has been somewhat helpful is Google Doc's and Spreadsheets for keeping all the expenses logged. You gotta love those Google software engineers!
Best wishes at the SB in Seattle,
I'll be sending well wishes that "everything comes out ok" (a little Snowhite humor there!)I really shouldn't joke around with people I don't know...and on a public blog too....TJ is going to be sooo embarrassed. Oh- and a heads up on the traffic between Seattle and B-ham, it gets pretty congested around Seattle proper, Bellevue/Redmond/Kirkland and then there is a lot of construction on I-5 at Everett with narrow lanes and a slew of 18 wheelers- more so during the week than the weekend though.
Feel free to contact me if you or your girlfriend want to talk. Tim or TJ have my contact information if you need it.
